How to cancel hotel reservations on Expedia

Holiday plans are not always as expected and you may need to cancel your hotel reservation. If you have booked your booking via Expedia, it means you may be paying your room. Fortunately, if you are canceled during the hotel's cancellation, there is a good chance you can get a refund. You can cancel through the website of Expedia or by calling their customer support line.

Find your itinerary number in your confirmation email. When you book a hotel reservation, you should get an email from Expedia telling you the booking details and your travel number. This email is ready to make it easy to cancel your reservation.


Click "My Trips" at https://www.expedia.com. My "Travel" link will be on the right side of Expedia's Home page. Clicking on the link will give you access to the sign-in page, which will allow you to view your details.


Sign in to your account. Use the email address and password you use to book your flights to your account. You can also use your email address and the itinerary number if you do not remember the password information you created. Click "Submit" to sign in to your account and view your route.

Follow the instructions quickly and automatically. When you connect to a phone number, you will be automatically redirected. Select the language you want to use, then press 4 to cancel your hotel reservation. When you press the 4 button, you will need to enter your travel number into your phone.

Problem solving

Directly contact the hotel if you can not cancel by Expedia. There may be some situations where you need to cancel your booking through the hotel you are staying instead of Expedia, even if you use Expedia for reservations. In this case, find the phone number of the hotel and call them. Talk to a customer service representative and tell them you want to cancel your hotel reservation.


Contact online to ask questions. Visit https://www.expedia.com/service/ and click "Contact Us". This will take you to a web form that you can use to ask about your hotel reservation. If you have any problems canceling your booking, you can use this page to contact them.


Send direct messages via alternative social media. You can send a message directly to Expedia by visiting them on Twitter at https://twitter.com/Expedia. Click on the Envelope icon to send the message directly and describe your cancellation status. If you want to use Facebook, you can visit https://www.facebook.com/expedia/.
